Archbishop Andreus, also referred as the Saint of Krat, was a well respected priest who resided in Krat's St. Frangelico Cathedral. When Krat was simply a poor rural town, Andreus devoted himself to taking care of its citizens. It was said his virtue even made murderers repent before God and his benevolence was comparable to that of St. Frangelico himself. Thirty years ago when Moonlight Town was in desperate need of revival, the newly arrived Alchemists invested funds in the reconstruction of the Cathedral. This evolved into a relationship in which the Archbishop recieved continuous funds from the Alchemists in exchange for further control of Krat territory.

Believing the Petrification Disease to be divine judgement by God and himself Krat's rescuer, Andreus accepted refugees of the Petrification Disease into his church. Andreus, after feeling responsible for the state of Krat, opted to work with the Alchemists and offered their Petrification Disease cure to the refugees. However, by the time P arrives at the cathedral, no refugees are found. And the Cathedral is swarming with carcasses.

The Archbishop would then take in Cecile, a suicidal woman and confessed murderer, into his church. Later on, Cecile would visit the Isle of Alchemists and steal The Arm of God for Andreus. The archbishop intended to use the relic to purify the city that the alchemists brought to ruin when they arrived 30 years ago. However, as time passed his form would warp into a monstrous beast. It's at this point where Andreus' self-importance and disillusionment reached its peak, with him having declared himself the One-Winged Angel of past and having insisted he had been chosen by God. After Geppetto's Puppet defeated Andreus, he expressed regret for the greed-driven monster he had become.

Gameplay

As with all Carcass, Fallen Archbishop Andreus is weak to fire. Weapon that inflict fire damage such as the Flamberge Legion Arm or Flame Grindstone are highly effective.

Trivia

• Andreus is voiced by Daniel O’Meara.
• "One-Winged Angel" is the title also given to Sephiroth of the Final Fantasy series. It is unknown if this is a coincidence.
