The Golden Coin Tree is a point of interest in Lies of P. It grows Gold Coin Fruit which can be collected and exchanged with various characters such as Giangio for special items like Star Fragments and Wishstones.
The tree is located in the Lost Flower Garden of Hotel Krat and can be accessed after defeating the Eldest of The Black Rabbit Brotherhood.
Overview[]
The tree grows one Golden Coin Fruit every 10 minutes in-game. Up to 8 fruits can be grown but can be picked up at any time. This timer is displayed whenever the player selects the fast-travel menu at a Stargazer. Boosters can be purchased from Polendina or found throughout Krat to speed up this timer. Additionally, the maximum of fruits can be increased through upgrades with the P-Organ.
Trivia[]
- The Gold Coin Tree is a reference to a chapter of the original book where the Fox and Cat tricked Pinocchio into burying his coins in the Field of Miracles as it is believed to grow into a "Money Tree", right until he leaves for twenty minutes to wait for it to grow, the duo digs it up to steal them and ran away.
- Giangio states that his hands were burn when he tried to pick the fruit due to his claim of having the Petrification Disease, however this may actually be a lie as the tree magically protects itself from greedy hands.
- At a certain angle, the tree itself resembles that of a weeping woman, with its branches looking like hair and the Gold Coin Fruit acts as its tears.
- It is believed that the Alchemists transform people known as "Listeners" into Gold Coin Tree.
- The Tree is accessible at the start of New Game Plus after reaching the hotel. The door to where Giangio can be found will remain locked until after the Eldest of The Black Rabbit Brotherhood is defeated. A dispenser can be found in front of the door to allow players to buy Star Fragments and Wishstones.
