Krat is the central location that Lies of P takes place in.
Overview[]
Once a city of innovation, tragedy destroyed the city following the Puppet Frenzy and outbreak of the Petrification Disease. Dozens of men, women, and children lost their lives, and the city remains a ruin of its former glory.
Power Structure[]
According to Krat News Issue 1124, Krat is ruled by city council and has a functioning aristocracy among the social system. Numerous factions exist in Krat, with three prominent organizations that make the core of Krat society.
- The Alchemists - A secretive faction that contributed to the discovery of Ergo, the study of Petrification Disease and other ventures.
- The Workshop Union - A group of craftsmen, inventors, and artisans that create the puppets and other technologies that greatly contribute to Krat's prosperity as a whole.
- Stalkers - Animal mask-wearing humans that act like mercenaries that help solve problems for Krat's nobility, the Alchemists, or the Workshop Union. Stalkers are largely divided into two groups - Bastards and Sweepers - and they are known to not get along with each other. During the Puppet Frenzy, they suffered heavy losses to their numbers and the organization's hierarchy is in disarray.

Notes[]
- The city of Krat was inspired by the Belle Époque Era in Europe (late 19th Century to the early 20th Century) and is the epitome of a collapsed city bereft of prosperity.
- The word Krat translates to "container/wooden box" in Dutch.
- Krat might be inspired by the Land of Busy Bees, a place where everyone always works and no person idles in the streets, however this is averted in the game for most of its labor was replaced by the puppets.
