Trivia[]
- Venigni might be a nod to Italian actor Roberto Benigni, who played Pinocchio in the 2001 movie adaptation directed by himself, and Geppetto in the 2019 directed by Matteo Garrone.
- His name "Lorenzini" is presumably a reference to the villain of the 1996 film, The Adventures of Pinocchio. Lorenzini is portrayed as a amalgamation to Mangiafuoco, the Coachman and the Terrible Dogfish.
- "Lorenzini" could also refer to Carlo Collodi's true family name.
- Venigni is quite similar to Bruce Wayne, the identity of Batman within DC Comics. Like Bruce Wayne he loses his parents at an early age, inherits everything, with their death remaining unsolved despite his own best efforts. He's also regarded as the 'Prince of Krat' for being its richest and most eligible bachelor, is accompanied by only a butler, owns a company that brought Krat wealth by inventing and selling hi-tech products, in this case being puppets, then uses that wealth to try and prevent the tragedy that occurred to him occurring again. However, he lacks any of Batman's traits, instead being exclusively like his alter ego.
- Furthermore Arlecchino's obsessive use of riddles is similar towards The Riddler, a Batman villain. However, the Riddler is never associated with the death of the Waynes.
