Rookie Explorer Hugo is a character in Lies of P. He is initially found by the closed gate leading to Hermit's Cave near the Barren Swamp Bridge Stargazer.

If Alidoro is killed, Hugo will relocate to his spot at Hotel Krat and become the special weapon merchant.

Gameplay

Hugo is first encountered past the wooden bridges on Barren Swamp Bridge. He is found next to the closed gate to the right that leads to Hermit's Cave. Speak to him and exhaust his dialogue to obtain the Old Cryptic Vessel and the Wanted: Alidoro poster. The player can then bring the poster to Alidoro who will call it a fake, hinting to his identity. After giving Polendina three Krat Supply boxes, they can purchase the Rusty Cryptic Vessel from him. After deciphering it, return to Hugo to find that he has opened the gate. If the player chooses to kill Alidoro later in the story, Hugo will replace him as the special item merchant and can be found at Alidoro's spot in Hotel Krat. If the player receives the Rise of P or Free From the Puppet Strings Endings, Hugo will don Alidoro's outfit and dedicate himself to continuing Alidoro's legacy as Krat's hero. If the player receives the Real Boy ending, Hugo and the other hotel survivors will be killed by Carlo and their Ergos will be placed in subservient puppet bodies.
